Organization and Tasks Introduction:

  • Staff: Three full-time employees (currently one vacancy) and four part-time student workers.
  • Responsibilities: Establishment and maintenance of the institutional performance big data analysis system, maintenance of the institutional and financial information public web pages, database updates, and integration of data required by various departments.
  • Tasks: Uploading and analyzing alumni questionnaires for 1, 3, and 5 years post-graduation, and providing document review analysis reports for each department.
  • Analysis: Conducting analyses for the Global Views University Rankings indicators and annual report topics.
  • Institutional Research Proposals: Starting from the 113 academic year, research proposals will be submitted by individual departments.

2024 Institutional Research Annual Report - Topic Analysis:

  • Analyzed the university's performance in the "Best Universities in Taiwan" ranking and compared it with competitor institutions.
  • Investigated alumni career paths, including overall employment status by college and time taken to find employment.
  • Analyzed occupation types and average salaries, with findings showing that salaries are highest five years post-graduation, followed by three years and one year, with doctoral degree holders earning the highest salaries.
  • Researched the relationship between academic performance in the College of Engineering and the College of Management and salaries one year post-graduation, as well as regional differences in salaries.

Chang Gung University of Science and Technology Report Content:

Report Topic: Analysis of Student Withdrawals and Dropouts:

  • Analyzed the number of student withdrawals and dropouts, and the rates across different academic systems from the 2021 to 2023 academic years.
  • Researched withdrawal and dropout rates for different types of schools, comparing Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, Chang Gung University, and Ming Chi University of Technology.
  • Noted the relatively low withdrawal and dropout rates in the Nursing, Early Childhood Care, Cosmetics Application, and Health Nutrition departments compared to national averages.

Ming Chi University of Technology Report Content:

Report Topic: Analysis of Adaptation and Learning Outcomes of Freshmen in the 112 Academic Year Foreign Technical Programs:

  • Analyzed background information, adaptation status, and learning outcomes of freshmen in the 112 academic year foreign technical programs.
  • Compared academic performance of foreign program students in the Management and Industrial Design departments with non-foreign program students, and examined characteristics of students ranked in the top 50% of their classes.
  • Found that foreign program students are generally satisfied with the professionalism and quality of teaching and plan to pursue further studies.

This exchange meeting not only facilitated inter-university cooperation and learning but also provided valuable information to aid in future institutional operations and improvements. Representatives from the institutional research centers of the three universities unanimously agreed that such cross-institutional sharing activities are significant for enhancing the depth and breadth of institutional research and for promoting continuous improvement in institutional operations.
