Institutional Research Center Continues to Enhance TABLEAU Visualization Platform to Improve Data Analysis and Decision-Making Efficiency

update date : 2024-07-30

In July and August of 2023, the Institutional Research Center of Ming Chi University of Technology successfully transitioned its visualization platform from SAS VA to TABLEAU. By March 2024, the center completed the visualization information system for war room indicators across eight dimensions. The new platform can handle massive datasets in over sixty different formats and databases, enabling data loading, processing, analysis, and charting without the need for coding.

The TABLEAU visualization platform offers dynamic chart functionality, allowing users to display the required data views by switching parameters and integrating multiple charts into a single dashboard. This intuitive and flexible data presentation significantly improves the efficiency of decision-making and planning for various units.

The Institutional Research Center has visualized war room indicators on the new platform, covering eight dimensions: enrollment, governance, research and development, internationalization, teaching, external funding, and USR (University Social Responsibility), including both primary and secondary indicators. Additionally, the center will continue to update visual information on nationwide university institutional data, freshman adaptation, and admission score analysis for various entry channels.

This transition provides convenient data access and analysis tools for all departments and administrative units, with a user-friendly interface and clear data charts that help improve decision-making and planning efficiency, enhancing the quality of education and promoting the sustainable development of the university.

The introduction of the TABLEAU platform marks a significant enhancement in the university's data analysis and visualization capabilities. The platform will continue to be refined and optimized, providing stronger data support for the university's development in the future.
